At 34, former official Sodi Racing Team driver Anthony Abbasse is now old enough to race in KZ2 Masters against some of the best drivers of his generation. He will be making his debut in this new category, reserved for drivers aged 35 and over during the year, at the FIA Karting European Championship before lining up at the start of the Portimão International Super Cup in October. The first European event will take place next weekend in Spain on the MotorLand Aragón circuit. Anthony will of course be driving a Sodi / TM Kart package entered by the French brand through the Renda Motorsport team.

Before managing the Mécamax leisure karting track in the Vendée region, which is of course equipped with Sodi Rental karts, Anthony Abbasse worked with Sodikart for many years. French Champion Espoir (ICA) in 2006, French Champion Elite and 4th in the KF1 World Championship the following year, he went on to compete successfully in 125cc gearbox karts, in addition to his multiple victories in the 24 Hours of Le Mans Karting. Official driver for the Sodi Racing Team for ten years, Anthony won the 2009 Monaco Kart Cup in KZ2 and claimed his first French Championship title in this category in 2010. He then went on to shine at the highest level of international competition, twice becoming World KZ Vice-Champion, European Vice-Champion and taking victory on American soil at the Las Vegas SuperNationals. Although retired from competition since 2020, Anthony has taken part in the last three World KZ Championships with the French brand.

"I've always remained loyal to Sodikart", said Anthony. "I'm proud to have been able to make a living out of my passion with such a dynamic factory team, and to have been part of such a great adventure. Sodi is now allowing me to take up a new international challenge in KZ2 Masters. It's an opportunity I don't intend to let pass me by and I'm going to give it my all to prove myself worthy".
